Nicholas Rochez is a partner of LeBoeuf, Lamb. Green & MacRae based in London with a litigation practice focus on insurance and reinsurance matters in the U.K., the U.S. and Canada. Nik Rochez had an outstanding career at Davies Arnold Cooper (including positions as senior litigation partner and managing partner) and has continued to advise the insurance and reinsurance industry following his move to LeBoeuf in 2000. Nik's practice includes a mix of insurance and reinsurance work, with in-depth experience of coverage disputes and professional indemnity, with an emphasis on financial risks, particularly D&O cover and top up cover for professionals. He advised extensively on the insurance and reinsurance market interests arising out of the commercial mortgage difficulties in the UK in the early 1990's. He also advised the company market in relation to the first round of film guarantee claims and litigation. Nik has advised a number of insurance entities in respect of their insurance and reinsurance difficulties relating tot he World Trade Centre disaster, in particular acting as General Counsel for two insurers on WTC losses, and most recently has guided reinsurers in their approach and response to claims arising out of the UK's most significant rail crash at Selby. Nik has a Law Degree, a Masters Degree in Business Law from London University and took his Law Society Finals at the College of Law. Nik is an accredited mediator having studied with the Harvard Law School team and has close associations with ADR Chambers. Finally, Nik serves as Chairman of Domestic and General Group Plc, the leading extended warranty insurer in Europe. |
