Extensive experience in Commercial disputes across a wide range of industries including claims up to £10m. Specialist in resolution of Construction disputes.
Construction work includes Arbitrations, Mediations and Adjudications on behalf of contractors, consultants and employers, as well as PFI. As at December 2004 conducted more than 20 mediations as mediator. Settlement rate running at in excess of 70%. Mediated disputes including tripartite disputes, Solicitors negligence, flooding cases, Architect\'s negligence and public sector contracts and those in the construction and financial services industries and relating to the supply of industrial equipment for the manufacture of components for the Automobile Industry. Successfully acted on a number of Mediations in London and nationally including Professional Negligence Action against Consulting Engineers settled for £1.27m at Mediation. Clients include companies of all sizes, National Health Trusts, Local Authorities and Government Agencies. Appeared on National Television as a Legal Commentator and is a member of the Society of Construction Law and a Fellow of the Faculty of Building. Stephen regularly gives seminars to clients and other professionals on legal issues, for example on the ECC and PPC2000 forms on contract. Stephen regularly writes in the legal press and has had articles published in, amongst others, Contracts Journal,Civil Engineer,On Site Magazine, Project Scotland and South West Building & Construction Magazine. |
