John is a widely experienced CEDR Registered/CEDR Solve/CEDR Direct mediator who has mediated successfully on more than 100 UK and international disputes ranging from a few thousand pounds to £multi-millions. His ‘success’ rate is 90%.

He is experienced in conducting mediations involving commercial companies large and small and those involving individual parties, in the UK and internationally, in the construction industry, the manufacturing industry, Specialist Trades, Property, Professional Services/Negligence, Worldwide Procurement, Exhibition Displays, Drilling Machinery, the Pottery Industry, the sale of a Vulcan Bomber. He also mediates in fields such as landlord and tenant, neighbour disputes and equine pursuits.

John is one of the Court of Appeal Mediation Scheme mediators, which normally involves very complex disputes.

John is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Arbitrator. He is a Fellow both in Arbitration and Mediation being one of the first Fellows under the Mediation route. John sits on a large number of regional and specialist Mediator and Adjudicator panels. He has also acted as a Dispute Board Chairman.

He is also a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors: Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Member of the Institution’s Construction Mediation Group.

His experience ranges from disputes between individuals to multi-party commercial disputes, with legally represented parties (solicitors and counsel) and with expert witnesses in attendance. Mediations conducted also include complex multi-issue disputes, with up to 20 people in attendance and organising assistant mediators, experts and others attending to carry out concurrent exercises to assist in achieving settlements.

Background
John’s professional life has been in the construction industry but for the last 10 years he has been mediating on a wide range of commercial and private disputes. He has worked both in private practice and in commercial organisations. Since 1979 he has specialised in advising on contractual matters, settling contentious accounts and the like and all aspects of dispute resolution. He has acted as Arbitrator and Adjudicator in more than 200 disputes and has also carried out Expert Determinations.

He has been involved in and advised clients on a very wide range of projects, throughout the UK and internationally. Clients have included numerous commercial companies, public bodies, lawyers and consultants. He was in partnership with a barrister up to the end of 1985 and then formed J E Price Associates. He has 30 years experience of negotiating for clients and acting as a dispute resolver.
His extensive experience in disputes over 30 years has provided an invaluable basis for his expanding work as a mediator in many commercial and private dispute fields.
