General Information:

Personal Statement

Only the lawyers are the true winners in any form of disputed litigation. Even a successful case can cause some financial loss to the victor. Due to the increasing legal fees and delays that often are attributable to legal disputes, I favour mediation as a modern source of alternative dispute resolution. I decided to practice as a mediator as I see the benefits for both parties in reaching a settlement agreed between them rather than one being imposed on them by the courts who often are restricted in what they can do.

I have represented hundreds of clients at mediation and been on both sides of the fence. My positive and versatile manner has enabled me to settle cases on terms which neither party initially anticipated or expected.

As current Chairman of my local Round Table, the ability to see all angles of a dispute is key to a successful mediation – as is being able to deal with difficult and sometimes stubborn clients.

I am a keen runner having completed the London Marathon several times (best time of 3 hours 18 minutes).I am also in my third season as a Triathlete. I am very much of the view that a healthy mind and body complement each other.
